We understand that aspiring musicians and parents often have several common questions about their musical journey. Below are answers to a list of some of the most common questions we receive.  We hope this will help bring a comprehensive and clear understanding of our offerings and will ensure that both students and parents feel confident embarking on their musical endeavors with us.

1.  What kind of instruments do you teach?

We offer comprehensive lessons for a wide range of popular instruments including piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, drums, bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, voice, and more. Our experienced instructors cover diverse musical styles and cater to all skill levels, ensuring a fulfilling learning experience for each student. You can find out more about our lessons here.

In addition to our private lessons, we also offer group classes throughout the year for various instruments and age groups.  One of our most popular classes is our Music Exploration Class for aspiring music lovers 4-6 years old!

2.  Do you teach adults too or just kids?

Absolutely! At Aspire Music, we enthusiastically welcome both adults and children. It's never too late to start or continue your musical journey. Our dedicated instructors specialize in tailoring lessons to suit the individual learning styles and goals of students of all ages. Whether you're a beginner or picking up where you left off, we're here to support and guide you every step of the way towards your musical aspirations.

3.  How much do lessons cost?

Our music lessons are priced based on the type of instruction and duration. Please contact us directly for detailed information on pricing and packages. We strive to offer competitive rates while ensuring high-quality instruction tailored to your musical goals.

4.  Are your instructors qualified and       experienced?

Yes, our instructors are highly qualified and bring extensive experience to their teaching. Each instructor undergoes a rigorous selection process, ensuring they possess not only musical expertise but also a passion for guiding students on their musical journey. All of our instructors have degrees in music or professional performance experience, and a dedication to nurturing the talents of our students. Rest assured, at Aspire Music Academy students receive top-notch instruction tailored to their individual goals and skill level.

5. What is the duration and frequency of the   lessons?

We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate various preferences. Typically, our lessons are available in durations of 30 minutes, or 1 hour sessions, depending on the student's level and goals.

6.  What days and hours are lessons offered?

Our private instrument lessons are offered Monday-Saturday. While the majority of our lessons are given in the afternoons and evenings, morning lessons are available for some instruments as well.  Please contact us directly for detailed information on scheduling and availability.

7.  How much practice time is recommended   between lessons?

Practice is a crucial part of mastering any musical instrument, and the amount of practice can vary based on individual goals and skill levels. We encourage our students to practice regularly, aiming for consistency rather than overwhelming amounts of time. Generally, practicing for around 20-30 minutes a day for beginners and gradually increasing to 45-60 minutes for more advanced students can yield significant progress. However, the most important thing is to practice effectively and efficiently, focusing on areas highlighted during lessons. Remember, every moment you spend honing your craft brings you closer to achieving your musical aspirations!

8.  Do you provide instruments for lessons or should students bring their own?

With the exception of drums and piano, students will need to bring their own instruments to class.  Drum students should bring their own sticks.  No need to worry if you forget something though!  We typically have supplies that students are welcome to borrow during their class if needed.  Guitar and string students who do not have an instrument before starting their first lesson are welcome to use one of ours during the lesson.  However, we do encourage all students to obtain their own instrument(s) within the first few lessons if possible.

9. Are there any performance opportunities such as recitals or concerts?

Yes, absolutely! We offer various performance opportunities throughout the year, including recitals, concerts, and showcases. These events provide our students with valuable stage experience, helping them build confidence and showcase their progress. We believe that performing in front of an audience is a rewarding part of the learning process, and we encourage our students to participate in these events to celebrate their musical accomplishments.

10. What is your cancellation policy for lessons?

We understand that students will have to miss a lesson from time to time.  However, because specific times are set aside for specific students, any student who does not attend his/her lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson.  No payment credit or make-up lesson will be provided for students who miss lessons for any reason.   To help offset absences, students will receive any 5th lessons during a 5-week month at no additional cost.  Additionally, Aspire Music Academy offers group make-up sessions several times a year at no additional cost.
